The LZ is smooth and flights to open desert prairie, majestic mountains, & fantastic rock formations are only minutes away. Watching wildlife like wild horses, antelope & coyotes, or spotting rabbits, badgers and fox are favorite activities of local pilots.
For those who want to see it ALL...
Take in 'The Grand View' by flying up to 6000 feet or more and see Arizona, Nevada, Utah, King Tut Mountains, the National Joshua Tree Forest, the Grand Wash Cliffs, Grand Canyon West, Lake Mead, Gold Butte, Senator Mountain (extinct volcano), Las Vegas valley, Black Canyon, the Colorado River, Lake Mojave, Cerbat Mountains, Golden Valley, Kingman, Hualapai Mountains, Music Mountains, and more!
There are hundreds of old mines in the nearby mountains with head frames, foundations, and open shafts or pits.
Flying along the Grand Wash Cliffs (the Continental Divide) is an experience not to be missed!
Weather here is usually calm enough in the mornings to get in a flight any time of the year. Winters are, of course, cold, but flyable if you bundle up a bit. You won't find many places that offer more flyable days.
Onsite camping is available and there are hotels and RV parks in nearby Kingman, AZ.
